This Christmas
Pisay - December 10, 2004

To be honest, my PSHS Christmas wasn't all that great. Due to typhoon Yoyong, our batch party was cancelled 'coz parents agreed to use the cash to help out the typhoon victims. Neither I nor Carlo Castro was too happy about it.

Castro: Ah, we don't care about any stupid typhoon victims!
JC: Screw them, we want our Batch Party! Boo!

Feel na feel namin yung spirit of Christmas, noh? ;)

Instead, we just watched Paskorito, where chosen sections present song numbers in hopes of winning the grand prize. On my right sat my friend Reggie, (in charge of switching on the lights during the first intermission number), on my left was Castro (in charge of holding a flashlight), and in between was me (in charge of pushing the play button on the DVD player. We're all very important people!). Unfortunately, we all got, er, "unemployed" since some technician guys took charge of our duties (boo!). So we were left to sit our butts in the audience and watch (not too bad, either). Castro had a personal vendetta against section I-Jade and kept giving them the finger and booing and hissing as they were on stage. He must be elated: Jade got last place. Score one for Carlo Castro!

Paskorito was fun, especially if you're sitting next to Paula (she joined us later on) and Castro, 'coz we were all making sarcastic side comments as the show progressed. Like during the tableaux presentation of Jesus' birth...

Castro: Mama Mary looks like she was raped.
JC: And she looks happy about it.

However, the I-Opal Christmas party wasn't as enjoyable. Sure, the KFC was delicious, but that was about it. I bailed out not too long after and just wasted away in the dorm room until my parents arrived to pick me up at 7pm.

DLSZ - December 17, 2004

I was so happy to see everybody again (and I think vice-versa, too, since everybody was either hugging/high-fiving me or yelling "Jeanne!" when I made it to the Freshmen-C classroom). Then they all left for the Mass, which I really wasn't interested in, so me and my friend Arienne (fellow DLSZ/PSHS student) went to the cafeteria to see what's changed. Okay, so there were new stalls with yummy food, but for the most part, everything was the same. I bought chocolate ice cream in a huge-ass Belgian cone from Fiorgelato for P50 (and all I can say is, I've had better. Try BTIC: same taste, less calories!). And then, the party. Sure it was fun, but it was so...bitin. 2 hours for an f'ing Christmas party? You gotta be kidding me.

Next stop, Enchanted Kingdom! There were only four of us going---me, Miggy, Katz and Juts---but it was still fun. I'd missed all of EK: the Grand Carousel, the Anchors Away, the yummy P45 chocolate shakes, etc. At around 8pm, we headed for the El Cielito Inn for dinner (they have delicious calamares). So posh! So luxurious! Inggit! And oh yeah, we were watching Drake and Josh while waiting for our food (Drake Bell is super cute!). On the ride back to AAV, we were just talking about life so far in Pisay and La Salle. I got all sorts of harebrained advice from Juts about what to do with my crush (my favorite: Next time na kausapin mo sya, magdala ka ng hanky para pag tumalsik laway nya, masasabi mo na "Uy, may laway na ako ni ********! Kilig!") Then I reached my grandma's house, so we said our goodbyes, and that was the end of the day. I had so much fun, sobra! Can't wait to do it again!

Anyway, that's about it. Till next time, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
